Redactyl is a product of HWAI Pty Ltd (ABN pending), based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to HWAI Pty Ltd.

2. What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve our service:

• Waitlist sign-up: your email address.
• Product usage: when you use Redactyl, all data processing happens on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your prompts, documents, or any data you redact.
• Analytics: we may collect anonymous, aggregated usage metrics (e.g. feature usage counts, error rates) to improve the product. These never contain personal data or content.

3. How we use your data

• To send you product updates and early access invitations.
• To respond to your enquiries.
• To improve and develop our product.

4. On-device processing

Redactyl's core redaction engine runs entirely on your device. Your sensitive data — including names, addresses, medical records, financial details, and any other personally identifiable information — is never sent to our servers or any third party. This is a fundamental design principle, not a feature toggle.

5. Third-party AI providers

When you use Redactyl with third-party AI models (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), only redacted prompts are sent to those providers. Your original data never leaves your machine. Each provider's own privacy policy governs their handling of the redacted content they receive.

6. Data storage and security

Email addresses collected through our waitlist are stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase (hosted in Australia where available) for data storage with row-level security enabled.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with service providers who assist in operating our business (e.g. email delivery, hosting), subject to strict data processing agreements.

Our website uses no tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies required for the product to function correctly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
